Option One:
Santushti to Hydel power station –1 day trek
This power station is located on a white water perennial stream and requires a 4 km walk in the countryside. It is suitable for people who wish to go for a shorter route.
Option Two:
McLeod Gunj to Bhated River – 1 day trek
The trek is most suitable for families & kids below 12 years. The water of the river is cold & crystal clear. There are beautiful Cedar Oaks & other broad leaved trees. The trek provides complete jungle charm and is a photographer’s delight.
Option Three:
McLeod Gunj to Mata Guna Temple – 1 day trek
The trek passes through Dal Lake & the village of Naddi. After crossing Naddi village we take lower course of the route which enters into the Bhated Khud. After reaching this point there is a steep climb for the next thirty minutes to reach village Bal Gaon. From this point one can see the Kangra valley. Before reaching the temple you will see the clear view of the mountain Bhim Gashutpi, the route for the Chamba valley. The Guna temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. From this point the return journey starts towards the village side. From Bal gaon, another route is taken through another temple called Galu temple and Dharamkot village.
Option Four:
McLeod Gunj to Triund – 1 day trek
A beautiful trek through forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron. Triund is situated at an altitude of 2,827 metres. The snowline starts just 5 km. from Triund and offers a breathtaking view of the snow above and the valley below.
Option Five:
McLeod Gunj to ILLaka – 2 day trek
Route will be the same till Triund. The distance between Triund and ILLaka is 9-10 kms. The small glacier is called Snow Line. Spend some time at Snow Line and retreat to McLeod Gunj.
